Family confession following the incidental murder of 14-year-old in Suhareka

In Suhareka Museum, my uncle kills 14-year-old nephew by celebrating with a gun

On Friday, he celebrated his birthday with his friends. And this was the last birthday Eddie celebrated.

Saturday morning, he was accidentally shot to death by his uncle, Naim Sopaj.

In northern Suhareka during an engagement, Naim, to follow the Albanian shooting tradition, used a weapon that came out of control.

He injured himself and then accidentally shot his 14-year-old nephew, Eddie Sopaj.

And with tears in his eyes, he told of T7 shocking events, Edith's cousin Agim Sopaj, who was next to him when the event happened.

I was able to get two shots and the guy came along and I got him.

As tradition wants, friend should be respected. So So So Sopaj says he waited until after lunch to end the party because of tragedy.

A message came out of the Sopaj family today to the citizens. They urged that it not be celebrated with weapons and that there be cases of tragedy in their family.

The news was confirmed by the police station commander in Suhareka, Milazim River.

He said the suspect is currently being detained to proceed further with investigative procedures.

Such cases take place on the side of Kosovo, where the holiday often turns into tragedy because of gun shooting.
