In Pristina, the International General Fair “Pristina 2018<18x1> is opened, organised by the Kosovo Economic Oda.
174 companies, 70 from Serbia, only one from Albania and 2 from Germany, participate in the fair.
The Kosovo Producers Club has expressed disappointment at how Kosovo tax-payers' money is being used in promoting Serbian companies in Kosovo, respectively, at the “Pristina 20181818x1> fair, which the Kosovo Economic Oda organises and invited all Kosovo companies participating in this fair to boycott this fair in protest.
In this case, Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has given a speech saying that exactly events such as the organisation of this fair show that Kosovo is marking good steps towards the progress of doing business.
“We are marking the beginning of the second decade since the start of the construction state, to build a strong, new society. A strong society can only be built when it has a strong economy. Opening Kosovo with countries in the region as well as with countries outside Europe. This will be a priority of ours to deal with improving the economic situation, but also with integration into Europe. Integration into Europe is the priority of politics. This fair coincides with an important date such as the release of the report by the European Commission. I believe that soon the chairman and I of the Parliament will accept this report. From what we've seen in the media, if there is progress Kosovo has noted is exactly the progress of doing business. If there is progress in one area, it is mainly improving the environment of doing business. 179 different companies from the region and Europe, I hope that in the coming year we will double this presence and with more concrete economic co-operation. One of our priorities is that Kosovo is an open country and society. We are interested in seeing Kosovo as part of the region and Europe”, Hoxhaj has said. /Periscope.
