Britain's Interior Minister Amber Rud has resigned from this position after the Prime Minister's Government, Theresa May, has been sharply criticised for dealing with some Caribbean-born residents who were wrongly targeted as illegal immigrants.
The resignation of one of May's top allies is a concern for this one, until it enters the last year of the Brex negotiations.
In the letter of resignation, Rud has said she has deliberately deceived a parliamentary committee last week, denying that the government has set goals for the expulsion of illegal migrants. May has already accepted her resignation.
For two weeks, British ministers have been trying to understand why some of the descendants of the so-called “Breessie Wildush” have been denied basic rights.
This scandal has overshadowed the Commonwealth Summit held in London and raised many questions about May's rule as Interior Minister before winning the prime minister's mandate.
“The Windush Scandal has rightly begun to pay attention to an important issue for our state”, Rudd said in her resignation card that he sent to the Prime Minister, May.
