“If the U.S. increases tariffs for Chinese goods worth $100 billion, China will strengthen without hesitation countering”, Gao added.
“If the multilateral system and free trade are threatened, the process of economic globalisation will be destroyed and the global economic revival process will be severely damaged. This is not in favour of China's substantial interests and common global interests”, spokesperson Gao Feng stressed, adding that China is ready to take all measures to meet US tariff increases.
On the other hand, Gao denied that China and the United States are holding talks on trade disputes. He said that finance officials of both sides have not conducted any talks.
