Education, Science and Technology Minister Shyqiri Bytyqi, along with members of the Council of Experts for Programmes and School Texts, at a news conference, have indicated that August is in the final phase of announcing the competition for new textbooks, already stressed that new textbooks will be ready for use in the 2019/2020 school year.
Minister Bytyqi, in this case, has praised the work of experts of the Council of School Texts, saying we are on a good track to finalise the issue of new texts on the basis of legal competencies.
“We, on the basis of legal authority, have established the Council of Experts for Texts and Schools, who have done a good job and are now in the final phase of the public opening of the competition for new textbooks. The new texts will be ready to be used in the 2019/20 school year, at all level”, the minister said.
Minister Bytyqi has stressed that the competition for new texts will be public, but will be divided into two phases.
He said that in the first phase, there will be competitions for levels of 1, 6 and 10 and the competition will be announced very soon, and according to the dynamic plan, it is envisioned that manuscripts for new texts take place by October, while the second phase of the competition is expected to open in July, where textbooks for 2, 7 and 11 will be included and that manuscripts will be submitted in January for the second half of books.
Minister Bytyqi has also said that the Council of Experts has decided that, to facilitate the work of teachers and students, additional material and a use guide should be drafted.
