The number of accidents in the first three months of 2018 has marked a decline compared to this period last year. Based on statistical data, there is a drop of over 10% in the total number of traffic accidents, including cases of fatal accidents by about 20%. 

Of the statistics provided by Kosovo Police for Periscope, it turns out that between January and March, 3410 total accidents occurred, while in the same period in 2017, 3811 accidents were recorded.

Deadly accidents in these three months were 14 Sosh with 17 people dead, and 18 accidents were registered with 21 victims in 2017.

Police have also told of the ticket during this three - month period, where 85 thousand and 332 tickets have been pronounced, while in the first three months of 2017, the number was higher, with 87 thousand and 479 flat tickets.

spokesperson Daut Hoxha has indicated about Periscope that Kosovo Police with its units continue to monitor and manage the situation in road traffic across all roads in the country.

Where participants conflict with traffic regulations, legal penalties will be consistently applied in order to prevent accidents of all kinds, particularly those with loss of human lives, Hoxhaj has said.

He has appealed to all traffic participants, in particular leaders, to be careful and alert during the direction of their vehicles.
