Macedonia's Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has estimated that Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov's decision not to sign the Law for Languages is a flagrant violation of the Constitution, but also a coward broadcasts Koha.net.
I am sorry that the head of state has literally decided not to abide by the Constitution and to announce for the second time that he will not sign that law. This is not good, this is a flagrant violation of the Constitution of Macedonia, and however, institutions have no right to allow this to happen”, n1 quoted Zaev as saying to reporters today in Skopje.
He has stressed that the Law on Languages will not change anything in Macedonia and will not destroy its future.
I prefer to respect institutions, and the Constitutional Court and the Venice Commission to plead for Law”, he has said.
He has stressed that it is a weakness not to allow the implementation of the Law on Languages to expand the use of Albanian language in institutions, since the latest legal obligation of the Ohrid Agreement would thus be realised
“in this case all would note that Macedonia will not be an Albanian state or any other community”, Zaev has said.
