Independent Group MP in the Kosovo Assembly, Wisar Ymeri, has reacted to Marko Djuric's arrest by Kosovo police.
He says police work should be welcomed and that such arrest was in accordance with the law, but Ymer has said extending sovereignty throughout Kosovo should not be issues of sporadic acts
He writes that this event risks advancing Thaci in dialogue.
His full status:
Yesterday's arrest of Marko Djuric was fair and in accordance with the law. Of course, in Kosovo, as in any other state, measures with which the integrity of borders and territory is ensured must be implemented. Republika Kosovo police yesterday were on the level of office.
However, extending sovereignty throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo is not a question of sporadical acts, but of serious and determined state organisation. The less a matter of mediated acts.
Despite that, the Independent MP Group praises the work of the Kosovo Police and their commitment to this intervention.
It is the very political dimension of this case that raises many questions. The arrest coincided with the same day that President Thaci, after meetings with Vuciqi, secret and once public, initiated the procedure to revive the Serb majority community. And this police action, always remembering that of July 2011, more than advancing sovereignty resembles making negotiations. In this direction, instead of functioning the Republic of Kosovo, we risk functioning Thaci's dialogue, which, as in the past, endangers the Republic.
The group of Independent MPs wants to finally stop advancing internal division into ethnic lines, which has been and remains the subject of each wave of negotiations. Now ten years of independence, it proved to them that these institutional mechanisms (with ethnic predices) do not bring integration, but only deepening division. The internal division could become the formal division of the Republic of Kosovo.
GDP is committed to advancing the sovereignty of the Republic and its unitary character. Republic of Kosovo must be Republic of Citizens, equal, co-operative and Co-operative. /Periscopi/
