Within weeks in Kosovo, excavations are expected to resume at several locations suspected of bodies killed during the last war. Initially, excavations will be held at four locations, which have remained half last year, Koha Ditore writes today.
Excavations will take place in the villages of Lupq and Majac of the Podujevo municipality, at a location in the industrial area in Gjakova and in the neighbourhood “Tusus” in Prizren. In these locations, excavations were suspended late last year due to climate conditions.
The chairman of the government Commission for Missing Persons, Prenk Lotaj, says the digging activities will begin as soon as temperatures are up.
The “will initially have excavations at locations that were suspended in 2017 due to climate conditions. Then he'll continue at other locations we have suspects. We have Muslim tombs north of Mitrovica, there were finds earlier, but there are still doubts. Also, we have information on other locations that should initially be verified”, it is expressed.
