Vuciq: With Thaci, it's so easy to compromise, the West is allowing us

Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq said on the evening of March 21st that Western powers are strongly backing the principle of preserving Kosovo's independence, adding that this is very difficult for Serbia. “I'm not satisfied, I've had deep discussions with people from different Western cities, and I think they respect the principle of preserving Kosovo's independence and this is very difficult for us,” Vuciq told “RTS”
Asked how pleased he was at meetings at the United Nations, Vucic said he was satisfied with the efforts and work of the Serbian side, but not with the results.
“After three days of difficult and light meetings, which I cannot talk about much, I conclude that, to prepare a platform for citizens, I must get the support of the international community,” said Vuciq.
“For a long time, we have been talking about the future of Serbia and Kosovo trying to find a compromise solution, the Albanian side is doing its job, its international community and I have been trying to bring Serbia to the surface from where we were,” he said.
It would be easier for us to negotiate with Albanians, but no one would allow Vuciqi to say it would be easier for Serbia to negotiate directly with the Kosovo Albanians, but the problem is the interest of some other forces, reports “Beta”, broadcast Periscopi.
“It is easier for Serbia to negotiate with Thaci, but no one will allow him to negotiate with Thaci. I want us to have opportunities for Serbs and Albanians to talk, to solve our problems more easily, but no one will allow it,” said Vuciqi told Radio Television of Serbia.
Vuciq said he never participated in a “secret dinner with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.
He praised that the International Court of Justice ruling sealed Kosovo's independence and that Serbia today pays the price of all domestic wrong decisions, but also the stance it brings under the influence of foreign powers.
Vuciq estimated that the situation regarding Kosovo is difficult, and added that the essence is that Serbia cannot take anything from the negotiations and that Kosovo Albanians take everything.
“There is nothing and there is no need, the situation is difficult, I disagree with many things, there will be great pressures for Serbia on different sides, but we are not willing to sacrifice all our national interests,” said Vuciq.
Vuciq has told UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres that Serbia was “ready for compromise, but not to sacrifice all its national and national interests”.
According to him, Serbia today pays the price for past decisions, and the International Court of Justice ruling calls <x0-criminal”./Periscopi/
