Cavusoglu's comments came after the Turkish military has been pushed to the border of northern Syria of Africa, fighting against members of the People's Protection Unit (YPG), which Ankara considers terrorist and linked to the PKK.
Speaking to reporters during his trip from Germany to Austria, Cavusoglu said the joint operation on the border with Iraq could begin after the parliamentary elections are completed that are early to be held in May 2018, signaling that Turkish troops can move to northern Iraq after the operation is under way in Syria, reports <x0Hriyet”, Periscope broadcast.
“Operation on Africa is not yet complete, we have the capacity to conduct two operations at the same time,” Cavusoglu said.
The PKK has a camp in the Kandil Mountains in northern Iraq, from which attacks towards Turkey often flow.
Turkey's General Staff said through a statement on March 1st that 4 PKK militants were “entified” by air strikes, as Kurds had fired guns against a Turkish military raid./Periscopi/
