Serbia refuses to stop operating its Kosovo phone code

Serbia's government has refused to stop operating Serbia's phone code in Kosovo +381 from March 24th, when only +383 code, which has been divided into Kosovo based on the agreement in Brussels between Belgrade and Serbia, will be used. Kosovo's Telekom has announced that since March 24th, +381 (Serbia), +377 (Monako), +386 (Slovenia) and that only +383 prefix, which has been split Kosovo with the Brussels agreement, will be exploited.
“The Agreement on Telekomunication, which has been reached in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia with the European Union's mediation, has enabled the ITU to appoint Kosovo internationally prefixed +383, ensuring that the regulatory authority for telecommunication of Kosovo CHAREP is the only administrator to communicate and co-ordinate ITU's adequate activities, said in a municipality of Kosovo Telecom, which conveys with Serb local municipalities in Mitrovica.
Under the agreement, the only international prefix in Kosovo that can be exploited is +383. With the same agreement, according to Serbs, Kosovo is enabled without the obstruction of Telekom of Serbia, while the MTS will receive temporary permission for mobile phones, which must be registered with Kosovo laws.
Kozarev: Any announcement to eliminate +381 prefix in Kosovo is false
On the other hand, the Government of Serbia through the Kosovo Office has assured Serbs that they will not change anything to their fixed phone or mobile phones, the newspaper “Zer” writes away.
Dusan Kozarev, deputy director of the Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, has said that any announcement of eliminating the +381 prefix in Kosovo is false.
