Thousands of soldiers, along with tanks, planes and missiles, have been put on alert at Russia's western border with Europe. This situation has resulted from high tensions with the West in recent days.

Russia allegedly is positioning its armies in a way to ensure a decisive quick victory over NATO.

Fear of armed conflict is seen by both sides, each blaming the other for failing relations between Britain and Russia over the poisoning of former Russian agent Sergei Scripal.

Defense experts at the Atlantic Council, says Daily StarNow they've presented possible threats from Russia to the edge of Europe. It turns out that fear exists that Western forces stationed in Europe currently have no firepower needed to defeat Russia. This shows that the challenge presented by Russia needs a Critic response from NATO, which should send more forces to Baltic.

Russian forces are on the borders of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, and Ukraine, and have a strong force in the enclave of Kaliningrad, which is located between Lithuania and Poland. This situation shows that Russia has a doctrine of orchestrated and well-thought opening attacks to win immediate priorities in a brief war.

Russia's 48th and 59th army is deployed on the Crime Peninsula, and a little further north on the edge of Ukraine is the 8th Army. Meanwhile, the 20th Army is also on the edge of Ukraine, while the sixth army is on the edge of Finland and Estonia.

NATO also has numerous forces on the other side of the Russian border, with 800 troops in Estonia, 1,200 troops in Latvia, 1,200 troops in Lithuania and 4,000 troops in Poland.
