A group of Serbian professors accuses Nis University Rector that from 2012 to 2016, at least 200 diplomas of Albanians, issued by universities in Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo.

As the Serbian newspaper “Blic” writes, this legalisation of higher education diplomas, acquired even at schools that have suspicious references, relates to the mandate of current sector Dragan Antiq, which the group of professors in a letter to the Ministry of Education claims some have issued in opposition to Serbian law. Therefore, professors demand that the state reconsider whether there has been abuse in this process, given that in many cases the demand of members of the Commission for no-testing to conduct additional exams characteristic of Serbia's educational programme has been ignored.

In addition, they seek to determine whether someone for personal gain has sacrificed the reputation of the University, which has become a Mecca for the massive recognition of the diplomas of Albanian - speaking territories. The alibi for such doubts exists in the fact that a practice of blanco verification of diplomas from Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo has not been recorded in other universities in Serbia. Therefore, they have handed over to the Ministry of Education the names of all those whose diplomas have been verified at Nis University from the end of 2012 to 2016 and have asked that each of them be reviewed.

“The owners of these diplomas have gained the right to be employed in Serbia's state bodies and institutions. Therefore, we demand that the Ministry of Education send its inspectors, because it is already a public secret, that Albanian diplomats have become a profitable business at Nis University. In turn, this financial is an important source for financing the reactor, but there are indicators that some university leaders from this have personal benefits.

This practice has been sparked as with the stick of the conductor by current reactor Dragan Antic, who as the basis for its massive application found in the Brussels agreement.

It should be known, however, that the legalisation of diplomas from Kosovo, but not from the territory of Albania and Macedonia, according to the agreement. However, the number of diplomas that have been nominated to Albanians who have finished the faculty in Kosovo is evidently lower than they do from Macedonia and Albania, which promotes additional doubts that we are dealing with procedures that are contrary to Serbia's educational system”, the letter of the group of professors says.

At the Nis University Rectorate, they do not deny they have nominated the diplomats of Albanians who finished the faculties in Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo, but they say everything is done by law.

Since 201 there have been more than 40 requests for recognising the documents of higher education gained in Kosovo. The process of recognition has been completed on 30 cases, and it is regulated with instructions for a particular way of recognising higher education qualifications and the validity of Kosovo University Research Programmes from the period 2012 properly 2014, Telegrafi submits. We acted in accordance with these documents and passed diplomas from faculties that had a European University Association certificate. When it comes to recognising the diplomas of higher education won in the Republic of Macedonia, such are more than 100 from 2012 to today, while some 20 diplomas of higher education have been recognised by the Republic of Macedonia say at Nis University.

The agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas between Kosovo and Serbia was reached in January 2016, where implementation was scheduled to begin on March 1st 2016.
