The resignations in Vetevendosje, which were launched last month of 2017, and are continuing today, have left some of the MPs out of being part of the party's structures.
In December last year, domestic problems in Vetevendosje began to emerge openly, which had started more than a year earlier but were kept hidden by the public.
The first to resign was MP Aida Dorgiti. This resignation came in mid-December, following the publication of an internal conversation in Viber among several LVV members in which Drorgi is seen as addressing with an insulting word to the founder of the public, Albin Kurti.
I know my expression has prompted reactions and concerns about the nature of problems in Movement. But my expression (unacceptably unacceptable) should be put to the face of a systematic campaign of slander, links and labels that has now occurred 1 year”, she wrote on her resignation letter.
But successive resignations continued. On the second day of the new year, Vetevendosje left the party chairman. Visar Ymer, who resigned from all positions in the party that led him for nearly three years.
“Jap resigned as a sign of disagreement with these developments and as I failed to resolve these developments. I hope this resignation will be understood as an alarm for the situation that we've come into and those people who made links to”, Ymer said on his resignation day, on January 2, 2018.
But the first one given by Vetevendosje did not stop. The resignations continued, not only by MPs and other members, but also by the two mayors of municipalities led by this party.
Just two days later, he resigned, as did the first deputy leader of this party, Dardan Sejdiu.
The “has long faced a problem within the Vetevendosje Movement, the problem I've been informed about at different time intervals and only partially, which recently has an increased intensity of harmful media 48x1>, had written Sejdiu on the resignation letter.
After Sejdiu, the deputy Shqip Pantina resigned, which said the resignation is taking place due to the recent riots the party had.
The last “Developments in the Vetevendosje Movement, slander, insinuation and continuous links during the last year, which were publicly and massively distributed in recent months have made me believe that the Vetevendosje Movement is not what I joined in 2014<1>, it was said in the letter of MP Pantina's resignation.
The list of resignations was joined by Deputy Faton Topalli.
Topalli's letter of resignation also mentioned disagreements with the idea of disrespecting state symbols.
I am very sorry that a part of Vetevendosje Movement activists are instrumentalised and are not aware of the damage done to Movement”, Topalli wrote.
The list of resigned deputies was added to Driton Caushi, who in the recent local elections was the candidate for head of the Gjakova municipality.
The previous Friday “, returning from Pristina, read a post by Albin, where, among other things, it called on those who resigned to return to discuss the Movement Forums. What awaited me in Gjakova was a new lynching campaign, with denigrative x-rays in the city and in front of my house, from the same activists manipulated for a year,”, had written Caushi on the letter of resignation.
Even deputy Frasher Krasniqi resigned with a letter from prison in connection with the attack on the Kosovo Assembly facility.
“Beyond this letter I resign from the general Council delegation position and any other position within the organisation, aware that I will face the same slander and reproach my friends and friends faced, Krasniqi said.
Today, MP Besa Baftiu resigned. She, as a reason for her resignation, mentioned what she called the lynching campaign.
“ ...We have therefore seen vicious lynching campaigns for all those who expressed dissatisfaction with the situation created, proving that a dangerous totalitarian thinking was being opened within the organisation, which does not stand up to criticism and otherwise”, wrote Baftiu.
The resignations of Dukagji Goran and Donica Kadaj-Bujupi were also spoken out in the media, but they were not officially declared for them, while Ismaili said in one case he was trying to resign,
In addition to MPs, members of leadership and activists, from Vetevendosje have resigned two mayors headed by this party.
Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti is among the first officials to not resign only from the leadership positions, but has resigned from Vetevendosje.
“... Everyone wants success in pursuing their own goals, if they have good. The roads may have joined us again, but for me already with reason, conditions and other methods”, Ahmeti wrote in his letter of resignation that he made public on March 7th.
The resignation from all positions in Vetevendosje Movement has also given the new chairman of Kamenica, Standen Kastrati.
“Being disappointed with the situation created and hoping that my move will turn attention to the urgent need to solve this problem, I decided to resign from the General Council and the leadership positions in the Vetevendosje structures”, Kastrati wrote.
Despite so far's resignations, Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti has said today that there is no division in the party he heads. According to him, there is only exit.
“From the Vetevendosje Movement has several resignations and exits, which are for regret and error, but in Vetevendosje movement there is neither division nor halting”, Kurti said.
