Ministry wants Dragash to reconsider the election of deputy mayor for communities, Aga calls the racist decision

The Ministry of Management of Local Power has decided that the Dragas municipality will reconsider the decision to elect Deputy Chairman for Community Sheriff Aga.

As, according to the legislation in effect, this post should meet the community with higher percentages, which in this case is the goran community, which has 24 per cent of the population.

Aga himself does not indicate whether it belongs to the goran or Bosniak nationality but claims the ministry's decision is racist.

The ministry must confirm the Komuna decision, since it comes to me as deputy head of the minority community. I am a member of the minority community, as the Dragas municipality is multiethnic and has several national minorities. The ministry has the right to think. We as local administration have an obligation to respond. I'm just like my ancestors. And these ongoing political developments are something else”, Aga has said.

But in the municipality, they say the election of deputy chair was made in accordance with the laws in power and was voted in the municipal assembly.

The Ministry's response says the Dragas municipality has yet two weeks to reconsider that decision.
