Kosovo seasonal flu falls below epidemic threshold

A total of 58,206 suspected cases of flu cases were reported from October 01 to March 28, 2018 at the National Public Health Institute, 5333 cases with the Accus Respirative Infection, and 110 SARI cases (Afflict Respiratory Survey), reported Klan Kosova.
During the week 12, 2018, 1442 suspected cases of the flu were reported, 174 cases of Acute Respiratory Infection and 5 SARI cases.
In the labs of the National flu Centre, at the National Institute since the start of the flu season, 312 people have resulted in positive in Influence. According to the type, 140 cases are positive in Influence A and 172 in Influence B.
56 cases belong to the subtype A(H1)pdm09, and another 84 cases are non-diagnosed A.
172 confirmed cases belong to type B, 90 of them are the Yamamata subtype (“The Japanese Grrit”).
The epidemic of seasonal flu has dropped sharply in intensity, marking an ongoing decline, Klan Kosova reports.
The National Institute still recommends that citizens take care of themselves and stay out of the cold environment (especially in the following week), not to stay in closed areas with the wide density of people, and to use as many hot fluids and vitamins as possible.
All persons who feel sick should be introduced to the family doctor as soon as possible to prevent complications.
