The Kosovo Medical Oda has received both the Health Ministry and the ethical and professional supervision of patients, months ago, while now officials of this Ode say they will also be willing to obtain access to the license of health professionals.

The chairman of the Oda of Doctors, Plerat Sejdiu, in an interview for Kosova Preris has said the time has already come to deliver the competence of the licensing of health professionals and continued professional and health education.

Our joint commission with the ministry has only begun working, will consider carrying other competencies. To be honest, the minister has been willing that in the first few days of new structures to carry competencies, but we haven't been sure we can take all those bites, so we've proposed one by one to be taken and so we'll act, we've got enough time to take one by one. Now the time has come to discuss, our professional organs with the Health Ministry for the possession of the license of health professionals and continued professional and health education, which is components that most care about health professionals. Oda will now maintain control over the quality of training of health professionals through accreditment of different conferences, their financing, and in this direction we will make sure that our doctor will not go or conferences will not be organised just for face-to-face to get a few points there and eat dinner. No, it's going to be a strict check on the side of this container about accredition”, he said.

As for specialisation, Sejdiu says it will be later, as he says it is more complicated.

The last “component is specialization, it will be later that it's a little bit more complicated, that's broader, and we'll share affairs under the law with the Ministry of Health, where we'll deal with the legal side of the health system needs for professionals of wageS. We've just made a joint group when we started testing needs, not giving specializations to give, but giving it just so we don't get the Ministry of Health, really come to the position of having unemployed specialists. We're going to make as many calculations as we need, as long as they're retired, as long as they can go out, they can leave the public sector. Then these recommendations are given to the Ministry of Health, which will be and is a competent organ that will produce specialisation contests based on our recommendations and make selections according to common criteria. Then, we'll get back to monitoring the quality of their specialization. I believe that there will also be positive changes to training quality oversight”, he said.

The chairman of Oda has announced that they have started first contact with two professional colleges in England that will oversee and organise training.

He said they are on a good track for oda together with England's Royal College to make a reference centre for the Balkans of family medicine for family medicine training.

After receiving the competence of ethical and professional supervision, President Sejdiu has said they have taken the first course to examine the umbrella structures.

We're also beginning to take first courses to be examined by the Oda structures, what it's good to mean is that the state prosecutor's co-operation has begun to send subjects to us on the Ethico-Professional Board's basis, to be seen has been professionally wrong or not. So this is very important where we hope there will no longer be misunderstandings about whether the doctor made a mistake, killed or died a patient in the doctor's hands because of professional competence or professional error. The media will not be able to be taken without misunderstandings as to whether the doctor was guilty or not, there will be an organ that will do justice. No major crime officers will be taken to examine the professional side, professional error, meaning help for the state prosecutor, as for police, investigative organs a thought concentrated by a professional organ such as these oda body”, he stressed.

The functioning of the Oda of Doctors will also benefit patients, who will ensure that the professional who gives the service is adequate.

“Oda for patients will ensure that the professional who gives the service is adequate, that it is within the law, has all the legal features to provide a service. We will ensure that the professional provides proper treatment based on the capacities of the institution that he has and will ensure that any treatment that can be disutable on the patient's part will ensure that the patient is examined and will ensure that it has been a proper treatment. Now the issues they might be contested will make sure that a justice is set aside will be clarified by any conflicting action or to say suspicious on the side of the patient's case, service recipients to ensure that he was actually or not. But we should be very sincere that all of this will also depend on the conditions our public or private institutions offer for our health professionals for the actual exercise of a” treatment, he said.

With the delivery of ethical and professional supervision, the medical community's self-environment has begun, meaning raising awareness of patients and professional responsibility from medical doctors, but that according to Oda chairman, health workers have not been well informed of the role of the umbrella.

That is understood, according to him, when they requested that health workers join the age and that they have seen that they have not been informed that it is imperative that they be members of the umbrella to provide health services.

Health workers who were not members until February 28th were sent an explanatory circuit that, under the law, have no right to offer health services unless they are members of the umbrella.
