Former French President Nicolas Sarcozy is officially being investigated under suspicion that he has accepted funds for campaigning by the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gadaffi.

The charges against him were raised only two days after Sarcozy was questioned in the French capital.

Judges are investigating his 2007 campaign, while word is for 50m euros used.

Sarkozy has repeatedly denied the charges against him. The 63-year-old was president of France in 2007-2012.
