Greece has long ruled its football league after the owner of the Paok team has appeared in the football field carrying a gun to protest an contested goal.
The world football body has called on Greek authorities to take action against Paok's owner, Ivan Savvidis, or face suspension.
Savvidis had been out in the field twice on March 11th and seemed to carry a pistol in his belt.
Fernando Varela had scored a goal in the 90th minute, in the match between Paok and AEK Athens. The reference had signalled the goal, but it seemed to have been out of place. The feeling was then interrupted.
Police have said 12 nars are investigating Savvidis, who has gun permits. But, however, he is being investigated for unauthorized entry into the football field and maintaining an object that could cause damage to the football field.
Tatyana Gordina, spokeswoman for the Russian group Agrocom Group, owned by Savvidis, has said Savvidis has made no threatening gesture.
There were no threats made by Ivan Savvidis, specifically any threats involving the use of the weapon, during the display of”, she said.
The incident has been condemned by European and world football organisations.
Greece's Deputy Minister of Sports Giorgos Vasileyadis has met with the Greek prime minister after the incident.
