So said Serbian Radical Party official Miljan Damjanovic.
According to B92, the German delegation, which will be led by German Foreign Ministry State Secretary during the visit to Belgrade, will come with the proposal that Kosovo be granted observer status at the UN.
Forum for Ethnic Relations President Dusan Janjic said a German delegation to Belgrade on Thursday would bring a concept of a mandatory legal agreement, which Serbian and Kosovo officials should sign by the end of the year.
But later, Janjic “clarified that this would not be the concept of the agreement, but the very main points of German politics for the Western Balkans”, Beta reports, records the Telegraph.
Presenting the elements the document should contain, Janjic estimated that Germany would be an active role in solving problems in the Western Balkans and in line with that, Berlin is defending the position Kosovo should be given UN observer status”.
Earlier, Miljan Damjanovic, a member of the Serbian National Assembly from the opposition SRS ranks, said Germany would be “wanted by Serbia to accept giving Kosovo a leader in the UN and not hindering each other from EU accession” he said it was actually a requirement for Serbia to recognise Kosovo.
“Vannings, municipalities, are not accepted into the EU, only states are ... It has already become clear that through packages and agreements, de facto of us will be required to recognise Kosovo”, he said at a press conference.
Damjanovic called on President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic to complete Serbia's EU accession negotiations.
The “not only about the Kosovo and Metohija problem... we are now in front of the Kosovo exit door, but about Raska, what to say about Vojvodina”, he said, referring to Serbia's southwestern region. This moment will take place in late April. The agreement has come, it will only be a question of Vucic's presentation as a winner. He will accept all elements of independence, but will not de facto recognise Kosovo independence”, Damjanovic said.
This National Assembly member also said that recognising Kosovo would represent betraying national interests.
