Floods in Mitrovica, 19 families evacuated

After leaving the Sitnica River bed in Mitrovica, villages of Frasher, Lisica, July 2nd neighbourhood and Mitrovica Business Park have been engulfed in the floods.

According to the director for Protection and Rescue in the municipality of Mitrovica, Musa Dragaj, the floods are mainly on the river Sitnica.

Dragaj said that the evacuation of 19 families has taken place yesterday until midnight.

Otherwise, yesterday Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri and Director for Protection and Salvation Musa Dragaj have visited the spots flooded by the Sitnica River, which, due to heavy rainfall, has come out of bed.

According to director Musa Dragaj, even though there have been floods of agricultural lands and some roads, situations are not disturbing.
