State prosecutor Tarek Saab has opened an investigation into the event.

Enraged relatives of prisoners gathered outside the detention centre and clashed with police when they sought information about their relatives.
Aida Parra, said for the last time her son had seen him the day before, but for the moment she has no information about whether her son is alive or dead. Prison authorities have told him nothing about this information.

I'm a desperate mother. My son's been in prison for a week. They haven't given me any information about it, says Dora Blanco. /Periscopi/
