Russia's war games on the eastern NATO wing at the end of last year raised alarms in Brussels and Washington that large-scale exercises could accidentally trigger a conflict in Eastern Europe.
The conflict could affect the 28 EU member states, reports “Reuters”, Periscopi broadcast.
“By facilitating the military movement within the EU, we can be more effective in preventing crises, in the most efficient outcome of our mission deployment, and we can react faster when we face challenges ahead,” said foreign policy chief Federica Moghrini, who called for an action plan and military mobility.
The plan will be handed over to the EU government and the European Parliament for discussion.
The plan is a test for both the European Union's renewed efforts to co-ordinate military issues and better work with NATO, which has its own standards for military bridges, roads, tunnels and airports./Periscopi/
