Brussels-based portal “European Western Balkans” publishes today: “The EU does not seek recognition of Kosovo from Belgrade”.
This position of Brussels has come after Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic's statement, which had said a part of the international community “is lying to Belgrade” and that they “wish from Belgrade recognition of Kosovo” and not compromise. According to this portal, the response to Dacic's statement is based on diplomatic sources from Brussels.
“Recognition is not an EU issue. We insist that both sides work to normalise relations, for more than that within the EU, 5 member states do not recognise Kosovo's independence, including that it is exponentially against” has declared diplomatic source from Brussels as clarification to the Serbian Foreign Minister's statement.
“There is no unprepared” approach clarifying the source, adding that “a solution for normalising the Beogrda-Pristina relationship should be reached through an agreement between the two sides”.
