Dalai Lama has suggested using the European Union as a model for building ties between China and Tibet, during a speech to members of the Tibet International campaign, which is celebrating the 30th anniversary.
He expressed his admiration for the concept suggesting throwing national interest in favour of a co-ordination, reports “Sputnik International” Transmission Periscope.
Spiritual leader Dalai Lama fled to India and established a government in exile after the 1959 riots against the People's Republic of China (PRC) in the region.
Tibet became part of the PRC in 1951, when the Seventeen Points of the Tibetan Pacific Liberation Agreement was signed by Dalai Lama and the then Tibetan government.
Although Dalai Lama initially chose Tibet's full independence, he is currently playing the high-level autonomy card.
Beijing considers Tibet a necessary part of China, and it completely opposes all suggestions to change its condition./Periscopi/
