The return of clashes between the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, its chairman and Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, respectively, with the Democratic League of Kosovo, is seeing it as an attempt to avoid the truth about the lack of votes for ratification of the demarcation agreement.
From Prime Minister Haradinaj's cabinet, but also from the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo's cabinet, criticism has been raised at the LDK address of changing the text of the agreement reached between the ruling coalition parties and the LDK. The word is about involvement in the package with the draft law on ratification of the demarcation Agreement, as well as the State Border Marking Commission report, which raises numerous doubts about the accuracy of the Agreement with Montenegro for demarcation.
Democratic League of Kosovo MP Vjosa Osmani said during a media conference that the government would have to thank the LDK, which as an opposition party has given support to the bill proposed by the Kosovo Government for ratification of the demarcation agreement.
“We have not proposed the other text. The same text, so identical text, went to the Foreign Policy Commission. We don't believe there have been substantial changes. The AAK approach, in this case, has been completely unacceptable, because apparently there are problems within coalition partners and are trying to shift attention elsewhere, in relation to LDK”, Osmani said.
However, the ruling coalition, despite LDK support for ratification of the demarcation, has not yet managed to convince the Serbian List of voting on this agreement, despite its being part of Haradinaj Government.
The head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Parliamentary Group, Ahmet Isufi, has said there is some uncertainty about the points that would contain the Bill's package for ratification of the demarcation, but, according to him, in co-operation with the LDK this issue could be adjusted.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Democratic Party of Kosovo Deputy Chairman Enver Hoxhaj believes the lack of consensus for Demarketing should be a disturbing development for all. According to him, there is no need to waste time with the declaration, but must be done quickly by voting and ratification of the Agreement.
“We think that what would have to be said for ratification of the Agreement, which would have to complete the signification of the border line between Kosovo and Montenegro, in the last two or three years has been said. We know the arguments, we know the facts, we know perceptions, we know opinions, we know differences, we know the positions of this commission and that commission, and there is no need for Kosovo to waste time. There is no need to listen to the narrations that we have heard in the last three weeks”, Hoxha stressed.
However, the Kosovo government, at the moment of formation, had received 61 votes in the Assembly. Meanwhile, in the absence of support from the Serbian List, this coalition relates that it has 50 to 51 votes for ratification of the demarcation. Adding to this number even the 27 LDK votes, the agreement, is believed to have the support of 77 or 78 MPs, which is insufficient for ratification, because 80 votes are needed for its transition.
Under such circumstances, in the political spectrum in Kosovo, it is believed that next week, they will be able to resume talks with the Serbian List, whose votes remain vital for the passage of demarcation.
Ratification of border demarcation with Montenegro remains a necessary condition for Kosovo for its involvement in the European visa liberalisation agenda.
