The meat imported from the firm “Vevaba” from Belgium has sparked reactions from Kosovo's citizens and MPs, who have considered one of the biggest scandals with food products for the risk of citizens' health in the country.
MP Bekim Haxhiu for this 12-year-old meat scandal has said it is very important to make it public by Kosovo Customs than how much such merchandise has been introduced by this company “Vevaba”, before 2016.
Kosovo Customs spokesman Adriatic Stavileci has told Kosovo Preris that Belgian firm “Veviba” has had three imports in Kosovo, which have been in total for about 60 thousandkg.

In total, the amount of meat import in Kosovo within a year is about 40 million pounds. Most of the 30 million is chicken, and the rest is beef.
The broken meat scandal was discovered in Belgium by the Federal Food Network Insurance Agency (FASFC) last week. The scandal has also affected many European countries allegedly consuming this type of meat.
No Kosovo remains intact.
