On the morning of March 15, 2005, until President Ibrahim Rugova's escort was making the usual route from residence to Velani towards the President's office building, Rugova had escaped an assassination.
A few minutes later, Rugova had to meet with former European Union High Policy Representative Javier Solana, who had come to Pristina to talk with political leaders about the situation after Haradinaj left and to find a solution to the government that would succeed him.
The BBC correspondent in Pristina had said that around 8 o'clock and 20 minutes, according to local time, he had heard a powerful explosion on Ramiz Sadiku Street, behind the National Theatre.
The leaders of this assassination have never been found
