Photographer Berenice Abbott has shown the change in New York, her big project to document New York, on the Federal Art Project (FAP) in 1935.
The FAP had met the government's depressive era programme for artists and unemployed who belonged to areas similar to advertising, graphic design, illustration, photography and editor.
Abbots had photographed squires, shops, travelers to the interior areas of the great city, reports “Daily Mall”, Periscopi broadcast.
Its goal was to photograph urban materials, culture and construction in New York City, documenting the old before it was destroyed and recording new constructions.
She had cracked 305 photos as part of the project between 1935 and 1939.
Abbott's efforts resulted in a book in 1939, ahead of the world fair in New York.
At the conclusion of the project, The FAP distributed the complete images of Abbott in high schools, libraries and other public institutions in the Metropolitan area./Periscopi/
