President Hashim Thaci in his address to the government cabinet has said that Kosovo in its 10 years of state has noted remarkable progress.
We have noted continued progress, even though not as much as our citizens deserve. The citizens' demands have been much bigger but the trained are positive and should weather us to move forward. Kosovo has had to face major challenges not only in the international arena but also in the internal plan. Ten years ago, the north was under Serbia's control, while reality today is quite different”, Thaci said, writes Periscopi.
For a new war-torn country, the achievements are encouraging. The challenge remains meeting the conditions for visa liberalisation: forming the military, fighting radicalism. But it should be encouraging in the commitments we have now made”, he said.
As at his first several-day conference on the eve of the 10th anniversary of independence, Thaci has cited ratification of the demarcation with Montenegro and the Special Court as a historically unfair case, but as a move to preserve the strategy of co-operation with internationals.
“are very welcome to recent efforts to find a solution even for ratification of demarcation with Montenegro. As for the Special Court, even though historically unfair, Kosovo has made its own decisions. Even this decision has been made to preserve strategy with international partners, the US, the EU and NATO”, he/Periscopi/
