QKUK gives contract 1.5m euros for gas, oxidul comes from Serbia

The University Clinic of Kosovo, as well as all regional hospitals, will be supplied with gas from the same supplier. This time around, oxidul gas will come from a Serbian producer

On January 5th, the University Clinical Centre has released the contract release for seven-part gas supply, says Schneta newspaper.

QKKUK has requested oxygen supply, O2 8.5kg bombola, O2 2.8kg, bombola O2 0.24kg, 30kg oxidula, and two types of CO2 bombolas and 30kg.

Only 2 companies have competed for this tender, according to the KKUK Procurement Office. One of them has submitted authorisation for marketing issued by the Kosovar Agency for Medical Products.

NPT Company “Medica” The KPS will supply KKUK and regional hospitals with four types of gases from this tender.

This company will be paid 1m and a half euros for four of the 7 parts of this tender. It will supply hospitals with liquid oxygen, O2 8.5kg and 2.8kg, as well as oxidul gas.

According to the marketing authorization certificate, a copy of which Schneta newspaper owns, “Medica” will bring oxidul gas from the producer in Belgrade “Messer Tehnogas”, which is based in Germany.

The same company has supplied QKUK also in the emergency phase, following the death of three patients on September 7th, where the trigger is suspected to be this type of gas produced without license in Kosovo by the company “Bubear Komerc”.

For the three-month contract, “Medica” was paid by USKKKUK at 257 thousand 828 euros.

While KKUK can be left unfuelled with other gases, such as CO2, which, according to QKUK procurement officials, none of the companies have managed to submit the license certificate for marketing.
