MPs say someone should be given responsibility for state of Jasharai Tower

The Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Environment and Spatial Planning has failed to hold the next meeting in the absence of quorum, while it had to discuss the legislative initiative for the Bill for the Memorial complex “Adem Jasari” in Prekaz, it was said this point was incorrectly in the agenda.

While last week the commission had approved the initiative to proceed with the draft law on the Memorial Complex “Adem Jashari” in Government, members of this commission demanded responsibility for the current state of the Jasharaites' towers.

Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Spatial Planning Chairman Lieburn Aliu said that someone should provide responsibility for the serious state of this complex.

If there were once separate finances, and nothing happened, we have no progress in this memorial complex, of course someone should give responsibility”, he said.

He announced that this bill has also been in the past legislation, but that because of early elections it has not been completed. As he expressed his conviction that since the draft is ready, there will be no delays.

Because this draft is considered in detail, there is no need to be any major delay. I think in a few days it'll be in Government on the Parliament, so on the part of the Commission it's all about”, he explained.

Even Deputy Director of the Commission for Agriculture, Forest and Spatial Planning Besa Gageri demanded that financial audit be made concerning the “Jashari” complex.

We have to monitor the tools that have been spent, the people responsible who haven't dedicated the money to where the taxpayers of the Republic of Kosovo have shared it, and take it into responsibility because that's not how it goes. It has been 20 years now, and every year the Republic of Kosovo has provided tools for this complex and we have now at risk of destroying those symbols that we all want to protect, then they are really unforgivable”, she said.

By contrast, the Parliamentary Commission for Agriculture, Forestry, Rural Development, Environment and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Kosovo Parliamentary Commission on Friday proceeded to the government the draft Law for the Memorial Complex “Adem Jashari”, which is expected to pass procedures in the government and then be approved by the Parliament of Kosovo.

As the petitioner for the rescue of this complex itself, Yusuf Thaci announced via social networks that this problem is in place. /N. Jakupi.
