Kosovo faces three main challenges during the second decade of independence, says the analysis of the political economy produced for review by USAID and prepared by “Management Systems International”, writes Koha Ditore today.
At the top is the lack of economic development, which is conveyed by lack of production, inadequate environment for business and inadequate skills of the workforce.
The impunity of the country's elite towards pursuing corruption and crime is the second challenge that this report reveals. Abuse with power in Kosovo, according to him, is already not a secret. The justice system in Kosovo is estimated to have failed to hold these elites accountable because many of the important institutions, such as the State Prosecutor, are politically compromised.
