In that match, Cakir had removed John Terry from the game for his severe intervention with Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
His most notorious match was between Manchester United and Real Madrid at “Old Tuffford”, in the 1/8 final return match.
He had removed Nanni from the game in a contract for an intervention on Alvaro Arbeloas, and had not awarded a penalty for United in two cases during the match.
