Israel's military today has undertaken 12 attacks against Syrian and Iranian targets in Syria, in what it has described as attacks of the wide “ ” following the exchange of fire earlier in the day.
A few minutes ago, the Israeli plane... was targeted in the Syrian air defence system and Iranian border in Syria”, the Israeli Army's announcement noted.
“12 targets, including air defence batteries and four Iranian targets -- which are part of the Iranian Army in Syria -- have been attacked”, the announcement said.
The official news agency in Syria, SANA, has reported that Syria's air defence has responded to “a new Israeli aggression” and that sources have said defences have hampered attacks against military positions in the southern part of Syria.
Earlier this day, an Israeli combat aircraft, the F-16, has fallen from Syria's air defence fire, during attacks against the Iranian “cating” within Syria, an Israeli military spokesman has said.
It is reported that both pilots of the plane crash are alive, though one was seriously injured, Israeli military has announced.
