Although the Social Economic Council had made the decision to raise the minimum wage from 130 and 170 to 250, the Finance Ministry has not yet decided on the proposal.
This Minister told him. KTV's that one of the negative effects on the current situation is the Law on Veterans, because until the completion of it occurs, the provisions of the basic law apply.
Basic law clearly stipulates that veterans' salary cannot be less than minimum wage.
Another factor, the ministry also cites the IMF's position and influence on foreign investors.
However, the very other attitude lies with Minister of Labour and Social Management Skender Recica.
He insists that the decision taken on the Social Economic Council came after a series of analyses and that the same does not conflict with any other process.
While, the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo worries about business control if the same would respect the decisions of institutions.
In a recent IMF publication, this institution has called for improved competitiveness and prudent income policies, recommending that any minimum wage increase be in line with the current minimum wage setting mechanism.
