Gjilan Mayor Lutfi Haziri has been elected a member of the Global Parliament of Communists (GPM), headquartered in The Hague, thus becoming the first chairman of any municipality from the region to be represented in this institution.
In the welcoming letter as a member of the Global Parliament of the Commission Speakers to Lutfi Haziri from Patricia de Lile, chairman of the Executive Committee of Parliament and at the same time Chairman of Cape Town, it is said that “the greatest satisfaction we welcome you Mr. Haziri at the Global Parliament of the Speakers of the Communists, and we have the special honor of having guests at the annual Parliament Summit to be held in Bristol, Britain, in October 2018<18x1>.

Gjilan leader Lutfi Haziri, after accepting De Lile's letter, has said he feels honored that he has been given this opportunity to be a member of the Global Parliament of the Communists' Speakers and that this is a special privilege and gratitude to Gjilan and Kosovo.
“As if I have been committed to the dignified representation of Kosovo's Gjilan in other European relief bodies, both in ALDA, for example, and in the Global Parliament of the Speakers of the Communists, I will make my contribution for the good of citizens not only of our municipality, but of the entire region. Beyond honor, this position gives me an additional responsibility, which, with great willingness, I will commit by” Haziri said.
