Prime Minister Edi Rama thanked citizens today who denounced the HEC's construction of Osum canons and assured them that the Scrapar Canons are not affected.
“City that the legal procedure of adopting a permit given by the previous government was conducted and signaled that something was wrong, Environment Minister Blendi Klosi launched the administrative investigation of environmental permit, which resulted in a criminal factory with manipulated coordinates. Individuals involved in this factory will be recorded at the prosecution, while the entire procedure will be cancelled”, Rama writes in a post on the social Facebook network.
Thanks to the citizens who took this first signal through the Albanian Intergovernmental Government Platform.al and all others who were involved in publishing this attempted crime, Rama points out that no government anywhere in the world is unmistakable, but governments differ from the way they react, whether they err or if they are in this case, when they may unwittingly be mistaken.
Everyone who was rightly disturbed or griefd by the bad news of the touch of magic canyons and I look forward to going back to the hands of the wonderful boys and girls of the Albanian Rafting Federation”, Rama says.
Named “koloradt” Albanian canons of Osum, in Skrapar, are increasingly attracting adventure tourists to our country. The impressive views of nature in this canyon make it one of the most attractive in the Balkan region. The canyon is created by the exhumating and digestive forces of the Osum River, exerted to the limestone mass of the geolinal structure of Corovoda, and is about 13km long, from 4 to 35m wide, deep to 70-80m, with vertical slopes. Its formation time is thought to be 2 to 3 million years ago.
