The Ministry of Infrastructure, through a media conference, has today presented the commission's report appointed by Infrastructure Minister Pal Lekaj, following landslides during the development of works to expand the National Road N2, the segment at Pristina's entrance to the Veternik neighbourhood, Lot 1 and Lot 2.
According to a media report from MI, the presentation of this report at the conference was presented by Deputy Infrastructure Minister Rexhep Kadriu.
“We just completed the meeting by the commission's report, which was formed under the decision of Minister Paul Lekaj, the moment the landslides of the soil and the defence wall were presented in the expansion of N2th Street, in the Veternik neighbourhood at the entrance of Pristina.
This commission has worked about 3 weeks on drafting this report, representatives of this commission have been three professors of the Faculty of Construction and two representatives from the Ministry of Infrastructure. The map of such a report takes place for the first time under the Government of Kosovo to know the rules of how this road should be carried out. According to the report we received from the commission, it has to do with the links that haven't worked in this direction, given the design, supervision, employee, and bad time from the atmosphere resurface that have dominated those days in the Republic of Kosovo at the end of November, and early December”, the report says.
It's going to be a preliminary report and we're going to send it to the projective company, the company that's developed the works on this road and then we're going to get their suggestions on why it's up to this landslide. We are determined that all roads that will be built in the Republic of Kosovo in 2018 will be European standards routes. No project will be allowed for the interests of any political party, or electoral issues to begin the work, we will work according to road construction standards and just as citizens of the Republic of Kosovo” deserve, the statement further said.
While, according to the announcement, Professor Naser Kabashi, chairman of the commission that has made the assessment of the causes of landslides on this part of the road.
The task the commission has received, which consists of experts from various construction fields, geomechanics, hydrology, execution engineering, has had before itself a complex task to highlight all that has happened. This is about design, which involves some related links and if any of these fail, there will still be failures of the project. In principle, we have many links, perhaps disrespecting the geomechanical terms of the project, then with the project, which was based on rhammeric, but there were some impasses or slips, and then what helped this, was the result, however, including other components that are involved in this report”, the report says.
