New charges filed against two former Trump aides

Robert Mueller, US special adviser who is investigating Russia's intervention in United States politics, has filed new criminal indictments against two former supporters of President Donald Trump's campaign. Paul Manafort, who was fired as Trump's campaign manager in August 2016, and his deputy, Rick Gates, were charged last year with conspiracy, fraud and other works, mostly stemming from Manafort's lobbying work for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine.
Both Manafort and Gates have denied guilt.
The new charges include tax evasion and financial fraud.
Manafort and Gates are among several people charged by Muller's team, which is investigating Russia's intervention in the US presidential election in 2016.
