Bulgaria Ready for Immediate Membership in Schengen

Borissov said he hoped Bulgaria's integration into the space of the Schengen free movement would immediately be accepted by European partners, which would lead to the opening of maritime and air borders.
The centre-right prime minister was not against phased membership in the European space of free movement, which would push the issue of removing controls on land borders to a later date.
Germany has particularly expressed itself in favour of gradual integration with several phases.
EU members since 2007, Bulgaria and Romania have met technical critics for Schengen accession, but some states like the Netherlands are not for their membership, praising that these two states must mark visible progress in the fight against corruption, to protect the borders with credibility.
