The fall of B1 thermal power station “Kosovo B” and the inability to import electricity has caused reductions in all Kosovo cities on Saturday.
According to the energy distribution operator, warning of lowering the amount produced by the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has been late, and as a result of large demand, coverage of this amount has been made possible through import, Koha Ditore writes today.
Such “Plans, according to standard procedures, should be sent a month earlier. We've done everything we can to import the necessary amount, but it's been impossible to realise because there's been a drop in temperatures and that automatically increases the demand for electricity. In these cases, major difficulties arise for realising import”, KEDS spokesman Viktor Buzhala has said.
According to him, during Saturday, reductions have taken place in all Kosovo municipalities.
