Kosovo and Montenegro have agreed that, in principle, to find a new solution to unblock border conflict through an annex between the two states. “KohaVisioni” has learned from sources close to meetings that there may be new signatures between Haradinaj and counterpart Markovic.
But, Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, in an interview for KTV, says the forms of the agreement have not yet been discussed.
Limaj says that after this agreement between the two countries occurs, the demarcation bill will be prosecuted for ratification in the Assembly. The deputy prime minister urges consensus among political parties in the country to ratify the demarcation in the Assembly.
Limaj believes this could happen in the first week of March and does not see this as Haradinaj's setback in his stance.
The draft law on the demarcation agreement with Montenegro stipulates that if there are new facts, the provisions of the agreement can be changed and fulfilled.
The demarcation agreement with Montenegro was signed on 26 August 2015 in Vienna by former Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci, and his Malaysian counterpart.
