Warming issue for new settlements in Pristina still has no solution

The cold autumn days have alarmed residents living in new collective dwellings because of the heating problem. In the absence of a lock on the Termoco heating network, they are forced to find other options to warm up.

This is because most of the new residential facilities are not locked into the Temoko network, thus being excluded from the possibility of steam heating.

And the problem gets bigger when there are reductions in electricity, as most residents of the new complex use the heating current.

ECDS's recent reductions have disturbed Emin Halit, resident of Matti 1 neighbourhood. The fact that the radiators of the complex he lives in are not locked into the steam heating system has prompted him to install the central heating system.

But he says this does not serve as an adequate solution either.

When the current is out, we have a problem especially with those who have young children, it's cold and hard to deal with... When the current stops, we wait until it gets here. We don't have alternative heating. So we hope that soon this problem will be solved by the municipality, so that we can join the city's central warming”, he said.

Even resident of the “B”, Hakki Tahirukaj, is disappointed that this part of the city does not enjoy steam heating.

There's no heat right now. It's not lying here yet. It's not cold yet. During the winter, there may be power cuts and we will surely have problems”, Haliti said.

He has indicated to Kosovo that they have received promises several times that this issue will be resolved, as long as he expresses his concerns if KEDS continues with reductions of the current. While he says they pay too much for the energy spent.
