Thousands of police officials are standing in Paris to keep in check the next protest of the “Verde” Jazzs, marking five weeks of unbroken protests against President Emmanuel Macron's government.
On Friday, President Macron called for maintaining order and calm following major protests that triggered clashes with police.
“France must calm down, establish order and return normality”, Macro said after a meeting with European Union leaders in Brussels.
The “Verde” movement began in mid-November against rising the oil tax, returning to full opposition to the Macron government.
Protests led to violence and serious clashes with security forces.
Political representatives have also called for protesters to relax and not stay on the street following the killing of four people in a gun attack in the city of Strasbourg. /Rel
