Following his address to the UN Security Council, Thaci has said he is proud to be the president of the most pro-NATO and pro-EU country in the world.
Despite the difficulties and despite the injustices being done to us, especially in the visa liberalisation process, we as a country stand firm in our orientation. We don't have any choice, nor do we look for alternatives, other ways. Kosovo's future and the future of our region is in Euro-Atlantic structures. So, honored present, this inevitable leads to the essence of the matter in question”, he said.
The problem our northern neighbours have today is not the Kosovo army, Thaci has said, but Kosovo's existence as an independent and sovereign state.
These circumstances make dialogue between our two countries a key process. Without dialogue and no final agreement, we are transformed into countries that produce endless and unnecessary dramas for internal electoral consumption. But harmful for the future of our countries”, Thaci has said.
Please, Thaci has added, just take a look at the dirty campaign Serbia led against Kosovo membership in INTERPOL.
“Please tell me who benefits from Kosovo's non-membership in this organisation? Only organized crime benefits. It benefits terrorism. Do you say I have to denigrate this forum now by using the language and methods used by Serbia against Kosovo? To be honest, I honestly feel sorry for their behavior. It is only natural that such behavior is followed by measures taken by Kosovo institutions for Serbian products entering Kosovo. So Kosovo has not provoked this situation. This reaction is the result of Serbia's aggressive actions.
I want to believe that this situation will be overcome in the near future. Pristina and Brussels are intensively communicating on this issue”, he has said.
