In the Italian Parliament, the League has proposed adopting a draft law requiring mandatory teaching of civic education from kindergarten to the end of the high school cycle, from the age of 3 to 18
He has been the leader of the League Party itself, at the same time Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who, along with Education Minister Marco Busetti and family minister Luciano Fontana, have asked Italian deputies for approval of this project aimed at putting the school in the center of society and the country's future.
League Party leader Matteo Salvini has expressed the need for this project by denouncing ever more frequent cases of disrespect for students and their parents to teachers and professors. “It is not acceptable, it has been expressed that after a low grade, parents will sue or physically rape the professor. It's inconsistent, Salvin has expressed itself and has to learn respect. ”
For Italian Education Minister Marco Busetti “the civil education line is needed for a new concept of legitimacy and understanding of what is public about us and society. ”
This draft provides for the new content of civic education to include road and environmental education as well as to fight the phenomenon of addiction to drugs and alcohol, as well as the fight against bulimism and cyberbulism.
For this new teaching subject, the Italian government anticipates to allocate the 1m-euro fund.
The government's critical and opposition voices approve this proposal, demanding that the subject of civic education should teach young people and co-existence, integration, hospitality and respect to other cultures present in Italian society today.
