Slovakia ousts Russian diplomat suspected of spying

Slovak Prime Minister Peter Pellegrin said Wednesday that the diplomat was expelled in late November, following information provided by the Military Intelligence Service that his activities have been against the interests of Slovakia and NATO.
Pellegrin did not identify the expelled Russian, but said he was “diplomatic employee in the office of the defence attaché” at the Russian embassy in Bratislava.
He said the suspect was “declared an undesirable person on November 22nd” and that he left Slovakia within 48 hours.
Pellegrin also said that the suspect's <x0-activities” are in conflict with Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations
Russia has not yet reacted to Pellegrin's statements.
Slovakia is a member of NATO and the European Union. /rel
