Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) data on Kosovo's foreign trade show a higher trade deficit of 4.2% in November 2018, in proportion to the same month 2017.
Translated into numbers, this year the deficit is 240.2m euros and last year was 230.5m.
In November, goods came out of Kosovo worth over 34m euros, goods came in worth about 275m euros.
<x0.>Export of goods in November 2018 was worth 34.7m euros, while importing 274.9m Euro, where there is a 15.4% increase for export and a 5.5% increase for import, compared to the same period of 2017<18x1>, reports www.kalxo.com.
According to key export data, 36.4 percent make up basic metals and articles, 13.5 percent mineral products, 12.8 percent plastic, tires, and articles, 8.1 percent prepared foods, drinks and tobacco, 6.4 percent plant products, 3.8 percent produced, 3.2 percent textiles, and other articles.
The most recent goods in Kosovo were minerals, machinery, and mechanical equipment.
“While, according to key import group data: 16.9% make up mineral products, 12.2% machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, 10.9% prepared foods, drinks and tobacco, 10.3% basic metals and articles from them, 7.8% of transport vehicles, 6.9% plastics, tires and articles from them, 6.4% makes up textiles and articles out of it, 6.0% chemical industry products etc.”, suggests communiques.
Kosovo bought 126m euros in goods from EU, sold 10m euros
In November, Kosovo exported over 10m euros of goods to European Union countries, with a leading partner in Germany.
Kosovo's <x0ports in EU countries reached 10.4m euros, or about 30.2% of total exports, with an increase of 29.6%. Key partners for export of goods to the EU are: Germany (8.5%), the Netherlands (4.2%), Slovenia (3.6%), and Italy (3.0%).”, the communique shows.
Meanwhile, Kosovo imports from EU countries stood at around 126m euros, or 45.8 per cent of total imports, with a 9.8 per cent increase.
Imports with the highest turnout were from Germany 11.0 percent, Italy 5.1, Greece 4.1, France 3.7, Slovenia 3.5 percent, and so on.
Albania main Kosovo partner in exchange at CEFTA countries
In November 2018, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries reached 15.3m euros, or 44.3% of total exports, with a drop of 1.6%. Key export partners from CEFTA countries are: Albania (16.6%), Macedonia (10.5%), Serbia (8.3%), and Montenegro (6.9%)”, ASS statistics show, KALLXO.com reports.
While, imports from CEFTA countries in November 2018 reached 55.8m euros, or 20.3 per cent of total imports, with a 23.6 per cent decline. The countries with the highest share in import was: Albania 7.4 percent, Serbia 5.6, Macedonia 5.5 and Bosnia and Herzegovina by 1.1 percent.
Over 8m euros of goods were exported to other countries of the world. The main export partner is India.
Kosovo's <x0.>Exports with other countries of the world reached 8.8m euros, or 25.5%. As more important partners from these export countries are worth mentioning India (14.3%) and Switzerland (7.8%)“, the communique says.
While Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 93m euros, or 33.9 per cent. Countries with the highest share in import in the group were Turkey 11.2 percent and China 10.3 percent.
